They lock together with a rubber mat on top to prevent slipping. Additional steps can be added for a taller step. Very stable. Heavy duty cast metal construction and should last forever. These steps are used and show sign of use but work as good now as when they were new. Each step weighs 9 lbs. Manufactured by Phelan Manufacturing and used in Operating Rooms and medical facilities to provide a very stable 4" step. They are stackable where more units can be added to provide a taller step. The can also lock together end to end for making a wider step. Each step is made from cast aluminum and are very rugged with a rubber mat on top. First come first serve on these.
