I do performance tests on two (very) different kinds of products, scuba gear and ECG machines. When finished with tests of particular items that I bought for the tests, I often resell them to recover some of the funds for buying other equipment and supplies. The item in this auction is a Philips PageWriter Touch, version C, ECG / EKG machine. It came from my comparative testing of standard, medical-grade resting 12-lead EKG machines. Several photos, with legends, are shown below, after the main description. This is a serious, highly advanced and developed, heavy-weight, heavy duty, and sophisticated, major ECG machine. It is in the long family line of PageWriter ECG machines first developed by HP then acquired by Philips, one of the major producers and developers of ECG machines. The machine and its interpretive algorithm have gone through many years of testing and revision. The PageWriter touch is one of the work horses of ECG recording in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, educational and research facilities, and for other ECG uses. It has a color touch screen plus full keyboard. It is full of features with numerous options and various settings -- too many to list here. For a descriptive flyer that goes into much detail, CLICK HERE. Also see my photos, below, which are all of and from the one in this auction. I currently have around 20 different brands/models/vintages of ECG machines that I'm testing in my research lab. I sell ones that I've finished studying in order to recoup some of the funds and purchase other machines and supplies for further testing. I am starting it at a low bid to make sure it sells. It is a major ECG machine that I consider semi-mobile. It can be used in mobile situations by placing it on a sturdy cart, either one specifically built for it or any good-quality, strong equipment cart that can be obtained locally such as at home building stores or various "big box" stores. Otherwise it is best used in a fixed location or moved only between use-sites and/or storage. It is meant to be used and is built for heavy use. If not used at least once a month, it's batteries (two large ones, as in computers) require proper maintenance and storage. Beyond being mobile on a cart, it is not "portable" or for travel and transport. If you are looking for a lighter-weight, truly portable ECG machine, I am also currently auctioning a GE MAC 1200 (click here for its listing). It is user friendly and easy to use with the touch screen. However, it has so many features and options that there is also a learning curve and one needs to read the instruction manual. It is ready to take out of the box, plug in, and use, but, unless you are already familiar with it, you will likely need to do some reading of the instructions and/or play around with the numerous menus. (Younger generation users, with more experience with electronics, will probably learn to use it faster than some of the older generation!) This one comes with everything you need, including part of a pad of ECG paper in the paper compartment, an additional unopened package of paper plus a package of adhesive skin electrodes in case you don't already have electrodes on hand. (See photos below for details.) You can run many ECGs with what is provided and have plenty of time to order further supplies as needed. This unit includes measurement and interpretive functions with the major, popular, and well-tested Philips ECG algorithm. The unit being auctioned here is in excellent working shape, including the printer. It should work well for years to come. The signs of use are cosmetic, scratches and scruffs from normal past use. One of the feet has a missing piece broken out of it but still works and supports the machine with no problem. The patient module has some discoloration from past use of disinfection chemicals. I have further cleaned it (using antiseptic solutions that do not discolor the equipment). It would be suitable for a physician/dentist/veterinarian office, clinic, hospital, medical student learning, EMT, sports medicine, various types of ECG / ECG training, research, or educational purposes, and perhaps for other uses such as home monitoring, community health care, elderly homes, or in wellness and exercise facilities. Guaranteed to work as described. Free shipping and insurance to the contiguous 48 states. Here are several photos, as in the eBay listing photos plus a few additional, with added explanations. What you get: the PageWriter Touch ECG machine with paper and batteries as described (including a new package of printer paper), patient cable/acquisition module/lead-wire set, clear-trace electrode clips for either tab or snap electrodes, hospital-grade power cable, and a new package of adhesive skin electrodes, tab style, 100 per package (good for 10 applications [can do multiple runs per application]). The adhesive skin electrodes are slightly outdated (2014-09) but still work good and can be used normally as starters or for practice and learning until you get more. When it is first turned on, it goes through some start-up display views, including as shown in this photo. A camera photo (taken under low-light conditions to better show the screen without reflection, somewhat blurred) of the real-time monitoring screen, using a standard test simulator running normal sinus rhythm (NSR). A preview photo of a recording, prior to printing. Photo of the display screen while printing. The unit with paper printouts (and back in real-time monitoring mode). Example of a sample printout. This image does not have the best resolution, in order to fit the picture into the eBay listing. FOR A PDF OF THIS PRINTOUT, WHICH WILL PROVIDE MUCH BETTER RESOLUTION AND WHICH CAN BE ZOOMED IN FOR HIGH MAGNIFICATION, CLICK HERE. (Note that scanned printouts into pdfs like this work well for electronic medical records, EMR, in addition to or aside from other EMR output formats from this advanced and multi-functional system.) Closeup of keyboard, with all keys in excellent condition and not worn from use. (The case, however, does have a number of scuffs and scratches from use.) Patient module, cable, and set of lead wires. Closeup of the lead-wire ends / connectors with clips attached. The clips work with both tab and snap style electrodes. Unopened package of printer paper and adhesive skin electrodes (tab) that come with this auction. There is also some paper remaining in the paper compartment of the machine. View of the machine with the display-screen in closed position. Back of the machine with a large variety of optional connections. Also see the following two images for closeups. PageWriter Touch user manual I will also point the winner of this auction to further PageWriter Touch documentation (physician's guide to measurement and interpretation, service manual, learning tools) available from Philips and/or provide, at request, the documents on a CD. ******************************************************************************************* FREE SHIPPING and insurance (to the US lower 48 only).
