Phillips Ryton Resin BR11-102 Black INCLUDES CERT'S Ryton® BR11-102BL was specially developed to provide excellent specular reflectance without using a basecoat, but mechanical strength is sacrificed. Standard Ryton® PPS compounds will have two to three times the mechanical strength and 50-100% higher modulus than Ryton® BR11-102BL. Further information on the degree of specular reflectance obtained using different Ryton® PPS compounds with and without basecoats is provided in Appendix I. Using black color Ryton® PPS compounds avoids color instability issues sometimes encountered when using natural color Ryton® PPS compounds in such applications. Extensive exposure to extreme heat or UV light will sometimes cause uncoated surfaces of parts molded from natural color Ryton® PPS compounds to turn darker in color. This is due to some material degradation at the surface that does not occur in the bulk material below the surface.
