Pipefitter Clamp-Super Bridge You are buying the ultimate tool for the pipefitter. I first saw this tool at an American Welding Society Show in the late 1970's or early 80's. At the time, I was a senior welding engineer for a major pipe fabrication company. The potential for this tool was obvious. I had the company order a sufficient number of the 3 available sizes to outfit the 100 pipefitters in our facility.I believe this was the first of this type fit-up clamp on the market before the american manufactures began producing similar type items. This tool enables the pipefitter without a helper to fit straight runs, pipe to elbow (45degree/90degree) and weld neck flanges. The fitter can either tack the joint himself or wait until a welder is available to make the tacks. In looking at the internet a number of companies now market a clamp similar to the one being offered. I could not find the Super Bridge clamp. I'm not saying it does not exist only that I could not find it. Also in looking at the picture of these clamps, the majority do not appear to be as heavily constructed as the Super Bridge clamp being offered. Not having the other clamps to examine, I state they APPEAR TO NOT BE AS HEAVILY CONSTRUCTED. Features: Size: The clamp will hold pipe 2 1/2" to 4" in diameter.
