A short time ago one of our local shops closed their doors. He had found homes for most of his equipment, but there was one machine that nobody wanted. It was a single color Heidelberg Quickmaster, the only single color QM I personally have ever seen. I had been the repair guy they would call for help on the two color Printmaster right next to it for several years. I had never seen them run it. They said they had, and when I checked "the mileage"it showed about 20mil total revolutions, so I know it had been run. As I disassembled this machine I began to realize just how clean everything was. I mean the motor and pumps down low where the dirt is hiding had just the tiniest bit of dust on them. I literally wiped the mclean with a single rag. Well the whole machine was that way. The surface on this cylinder looks perfect to the naked eye. I am not aware of any problems associated with this cylinder. To be clear, this is the P1 plate cylinder assembly. That is the main unit with the ink fountain over the delivery.
