This item is a portable battery operated, with charger, digital stroboscope manufactured by Kernco Instruments Co, Inc. This item is new-in-box and never used or charged up. I used other identical stroboscopes and they worked flawless in helping me know the exact speed of rotating machinery. There is also an output trigger jack which allows the user to trigger other devices, such as balance equipment/analyzers. The internal battery charges in about three hours. The pocket strobe can be used in a variety of industrial, laboratory, R&D and academic environments. Most commonly the pocket strobe is used to make objects which are moving at high speeds appear to be moving in slow motion. When this occurs, you can then safely and easily analyzer their motion, check for proper registration, determine sources of unwanted vibration, etc. Also, you can use the pocket strobe to apparently “freeze” an object's movement. Without making contact, you can accurately measure the object's rotational speed or reciprocation rate. Unlike other portable stroboscopes, the pocket strobe takes only one hand to operate, and because it is the worlds smallest industrial stroboscope, it is very convenient for you to carry from measurement site to measurement site. Typical applications include use with: 1 High speed assembly lines, conveyor systems, bottling operations, etc. 2 Printing presses and cloth looms. 3 Motors, fans, pumps, turbines. 4 Calibration and inspection equipment. 5 Monitoring laboratory and research applications. This kit includes the pocket-strobe, case, wrist strap, battery charger, and operators manual and one spare flash tube.
