It's recommended that you check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be before bidding or buying. Step 4: Mix 1ml of catalyst with PolyNatural and apply a very thin coat over the white-wash. PolyWhite and PolyNatural are two coating products specifically designed for dye sublimation on wood. PolyWhite is a water-based primer that can be used in conjunction with PolyGloss or PolyNatural. This listing specifically includes PolyWhite and PolyNatural. To use PolyWhite and PolyNatural together, the following steps need to be followed: Step 5: Cure the wood on a press at 385F for 6 minutes (with parchment paper or a silicone pad between the wood and heating element). Alternatively, substrates can be cured in an oven for 12 minutes at 385F. Step 3: Cure the first coat on a press (with parchment paper) or in an oven for 3 minutes at 350F. If you're creating outdoor art, it's recommended that you spray a UV-resistant clear acrylic coating over your sublimated image after the substrate has cooled. Krylon UV-resistant aerosol spray is available at craft and hardware stores. Step 2: Dampen unfinished wood, and brush on the PolyWhite mixture until an even coating of white "stain" is achieved. When using PolyNatural in combination with PolyWhite, you'll get a natural, transparent sublimatable surface on unfinished wood. The white-wash created by PolyWhite will brighten the wood, creating more vibrant images while still allowing the wood grain to remain visible. Step 6: To ensure thorough image transfer, place a silicone pad between the sublimation paper and heat platen. Press the image with medium pressure at 375F for 3 minutes. Step 1: Mix 1ml of catalyst with each ounce of PolyWhite.
