POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE CONDY'S CRYSTALS KOI FISH AQUARIUM DISINFECT 1 X 15 GMS. Item Detail : Potassium permanganate is an inorganic chemical compound with thechemical formula KMnO4. Formerly known as permanganate of potash or Condy's crystals, it is a strong oxidizing agent. It dissolves in water to give intensely pink or purple solutions. Safety and Handling : As an oxidizer that generates the dark brown product MnO2, potassium permanganate rapidly stains virtually any organic material such as skin, paper, and clothing. Solid KMnO4 is a strong oxidizer, thus should be kept separated from oxidizable substances such as skin, paper, and clothing. Reaction with concentrated sulfuric acid produces the highly explosivemanganese(VII) oxide (Mn2O7).
