PRB Packaging Systems FAR 2001 Overwrapper Description: PRB Model FAR2001 AUTOMATIC BUNDLING/OVERWRAPPING MACHINE, complete with an in-line feeding system, lateral shifting of the product and stacking station. All movements are mechanical therefore, all operating phases are fully synchronized. The mechanical collating mechanism is designed for high speed and the machine can be equipped with different groups to satisfy various pattern requirements. Machine Operation Summary: The products arriving on the infeed belt are conveyed to a collating station where they are lifted until the proper collation pattern is obtained. With the use of latching plates the cartons are kept in a lifted position until a transversal pusher transfers them to the pre-wrapping station. Two sensors on the infeed belt check the position of the cartons in the collation station. If cartons are missing the machine will stop. A blinking visual alarm (LED) indicates the machine is momentarily stopped and is waiting for the arrival of cartons. Upon their arrival, the machine will automatically restart. Simultaneously with the forming of the collated pattern, pincers will feed the film with a vertical movement in front of the collated products in the desired length. Once the products have been completely inserted into the film, a vertical folder makes the upper fold, while sealing it on the backside. During the transfer towards the outfeed, the lateral folders fold the side flaps, thus completing the overwrapping.
