Precision Twist 5ATL High Speed Steel Long Length Bit, Uncoated (Bright) Finish, Round Shank, Spiral Flute, 118 Degree Point Angle, 21.50mm Long length drill bits, also called taper length, have longer flutes and overall lengths than Jobber drill bits 118-degree conventional point angles good for general drilling applications Round shanks can be used with a variety of tool-holding systems Uncoated (bright), economical and useful with a wide range of drilling applications High-speed steel, for use on a wide variety of materials The Precision Twist 5ATL long length, 118-degree conventional point, general purpose round shank drill bit made of high-speed steel (HSS) with uncoated(bright) finish. It is suitable for drilling holes to a depth up to six times the diameter of the drill size. The shank diameter is the same as the drill size. The 118-degree conventional point design is the most commonly accepted standard for drilling holes in a variety of material, such as wood, metal and synthetics. It comes with a uncoated (bright) finish helps keep costs down, yet provides acceptable performance in most situations. For drill bit sizes 1.00mm/0.0394 inch and less than 18.00mm/0.71 inches, the drills are uncoated, without any additional treatment. The bright finish facilitates chip flow in soft materials. For drill bit sizes between 19.00mm/0.7480 inches and 31.00mm/1.2205 inches, the drills have a black oxide finish. This finish gives a strongly adhering surface treatment that acts to retain cutting fluid and prevent chip to tool welding, reducing the formation of a built-up edge.
