I have selected Pro Seal brand for many years. I find it is more resistant to various chemicals, even water and salt, than many of the other brands. It is perfect for bicycle, snow mobile, tractor, motorcycle and similar parts which are subject to dirt, water, mud and salt spray. The viscosity is excellent. It is liquid enough to flow into the threads, but not fall off on its own. It can be left in the work truck in winter and not freeze. It can also stay in the truck in summer and not separate when hot. The Red fills gaps well, too. It's rated to fill gaps up to 0.007". but I've used it on loose fitting bearing with gaps up to 0.012" and maybe more. The parts assembled with Red can be used in 15 to 30 minutes, depending on material & gap size. 24 hours gives maximum strength. Another very important feature of Pro Seal brand is shelf life. I have had bottles that have been opened for over 10 years & were still perfect. The caps didn't even get stuck! This is a small item, but I like these bottles much better than the mini toothpaste type tubes, too. The product won't pour out uncontrollably as with the toothpaste style tubes. No waste. These won't tend to rip open in a tool box when a tool crashes into them like the tubes do. What a mess! The lid is big, with wings so it can be gripped with work gloves on. If you are in a hurry, you can squeeze the bottle. If you need precision, you can let it drip out on its own. Should you so desire, you can even pop the dropper off & dump the bottle. Why? Beats Me, but you can do it. The size is great- Compact for pocket or tool kit, but large enough to last for many projects. For example, I had a project with 144 bolts. Each was 5/16-18 x 2" Full Thread I opened a new 6 ml bottle and still had over half a bottle left at the end of the job. These are brand new factory packaged units. The actual bottle & contents are perfect. They are fresh. Not leftovers. If you do happen to find old bottles somewhere, don't hesitate. ProSeal brand does not spoil. Removing Thread Seal Red- Although it is called "Permanent", the fastener can be loosened with heat of about 450 degrees from a heat gun or torch. On larger fasteners, they can be removed without heat using standard tools and a strong pull. Heads on very small fasteners might strip without heat.
