*I bought this as a gift for someone, but they bought another already. :) Please read details below. This item is as-is. Thanks ! This is a used ProCat Stylus Electric Stenograph/Court Reporter machine. This steno type machine is in good physical condition with scuffs, scratches, marks and normal signs of usage. The tripod is in good shape; it's straight and opens and closes properly. The case is also in fair shape, has scratches on the outside, dings, and wear. There are two double-wide keys (center and far right). Serial Number: 8013140 Machine powers on with no issues, the display is in excellent shape, no dead pixels and no dead lines. Touch screen controls are working properly. Using the touchscreen display I am able to navigate through menus, view settings, make changes, etc. I verified that pressing on the keys activates the print head and that the roller moves properly. I ran the self test on all the keys and verified that every key is registered properly. Everything looks to be in good working order. All of the keys are straight and press smoothly with no hesitation or binding at all. Unit looks to be 100% functional and passed all my quick tests. There is a compact flash and SD card also included for storing files. sThis unit has several ports on the side for real-time reporting along with several cables. No software included, only the machine as pictured. No ink ribbon included - the one that was in the machine was old and dried up. New cartridges can be purchased inexpensively online. Unit may need to be professionally cleaned or serviced; these machines require routine maintenance to keep them in optimal operating condition. Please note that this unit comes with a rechargeable battery; the battery is used so there are no guarantees on battery life or longevity. During my testing the battery took a charge, held a charge and was able to operate the unit independently of external power.
