DESCRIPTION: ProFlex was developed for our customers who want to take advantage of all the benefits of EPDM rubber but have an asphalt roof or a roof where another 3rd party coatings was used. The ProFlex primer provides a safe barrier and an acceptable substrate for the Liquid EPDM rubber. For years customers have asked if the product can be applied to asphalt shingles, bur roofs and mod bit as well as third party coatings like elastomerics, urethanes and acrylics. It is a proven roofing solution that allow our clients the ability to now use the Liquid EPDM rubber on virtually any substrate. It is important to note that the ProFlex primer needs to remain tacky when you apply the Liquid EPDM. Should the primer dry out (48 hours) after applied it will need to be sanded and recoated. APPLICATION: The day which you apply the ProFlex primer needs to be above 50 degrees. Lower temperatures at night will slow the cure but will not effect the product. Do not apply ProFlex if you anticipate freezing temperatures BEFORE you are able to apply the Liquid EPDM Rubber. USES: ·         You may already be aware that your current Epoxy and Urethane coating can’t be recoated directly since it will encounter an adhesion issue. The Proflex Primer makes it possible to recoat epoxy’s and urethanes. ·         Aged wood or foam where degration has occurred needs to first be coated with the Proflex primer and then coated with the liquid epdm rubber. ·         Existing epdm roofs that have deposits of oils or fats. This is particularly important for restaurants, hospitals and hotels that have restaurant. It is suggested to apply the Proflex primer over your existing roof to prevent swelling caused by the absorption of oils and fats into epdm rubber. ·         Thermoplastic membranes like Hypalon can be recoated with the liquid epdm rubber after a coatings of the Proflex Primer. ·         Pot life is approx. 45 minutes to one hour therefore we suggest mixing half at a time ·         The day which you apply the ProFlex primer needs to be above 50 degrees. Lower temperatures at night will slow the cure but will not effect the product. No not apply ProFlex when you anticipate prolonged freezing temperatures during the day and night. PREPARATION:  Prior to application be sure the surface is perfectly dry and free from any loose dirt, as well as any algae or oils. Should you have any 3rd party coatings like elastomerics or paint that are peeking be sure to get as much of the loose material off before application.
