SMD Socket Shield for RFduino RFD22301 SMD module. The RFduino is an ARM Cortex M0 Arduino with Blue Tooth 4.0 Low Energy Smart Radio built in. This socket is made for testing, programming, or solderless breadboard applications. Before installing  the RFD22310 SMD modules onto your custom boards you should test them to verify you have good parts. If you install untested unit and they don't work, you won't know if you overheated them during reflow soldering or not. This non-destructive test fixture provides that ability. The pin-outs of the socket are directly compatible with standard RFduino shields. Makes it easy to use the RFD22301 RFduino SMD module on a solderless breadboard. Make it easy to test the RFD22301 modules before they are soldered to PCB. This socket is pinned out to fit standard RFduino shields. Plug it into a RFduino USB shield for easy programming. The JTAG SWD pins are brought out as well for advanced users. JTAG programming can easily be done using Segger, STLINK2 with openOCD, MBED mKIT, etc. A RFD22301 SMD module is placed into the well allowing spring loaded pogo pins to make contact to the bottom of the SMD module. The lever clamp retains the module. See pics. NOTE: The RFD22301 shown is for illustration only and is not included with the socket.
