CUSTOM MADE PROPELLER CARVING AND WOOD ROUTER DUPLICATING MACHINE 3D PANTOGRAPH STYLE This is a custom built wood router carving machine for duplicating from existing parts or masters. I built this machine primarily for fabrication of airplane propellers. For which it did an outstanding job! I have also used the machine to make electric guitar bodies and necks, a couple gun stocks and, various other items for boats and airplanes. As you can see it is a pantograph style mechanism whose design draws from existing proven apparatus that have been used for years to make props. I changed the design in that round tube ways were fabricated and a sliding carriage was built to ride on the ways. This provides a positive, solid, accurate function and feel to the machine. The "other" designs use V-belt pulleys as wheels and angle iron tracks. This results in a sloppy machine that's not nearly as nice to use. A manual feed mechanism has been incorporated to facilitate easy movement of the carriage and to hold the carriage in position while routing.  The carriage saddle slides on ABS bushings which are replaceable. I have built over a dozen large propellers and dozens of other items on this machine and the slides are showing absolutely no wear whatsoever. There are ports in the slide assemblies to allow pressurized air to be blown in them to clear any dust which may accumulate. The bushings are a very close fit and I have never found dust to be in the slide assemblies. The ways are EMT conduit which has been hand worked smooth. The Carriage feed cable system is adjustable, although in all the time I've been using it I have never needed to. The router itself is an early model Sears Craftsman all aluminum unit that is in very good condition. They are readily available should this one ever wear out. It does have all of it's components should you need to use it as a regular router as well. A 3/4" round bit and stylus are mounted now and included as is a 1/2" square (flat) stylus for inletting guitar bodies etc. The maximum part size is approximately 120"Lx20"Wx5"H-that's one hefty prop! I made several propellers up to 80" and had plenty of room-the blank shown is for an 80/50 prop. You can easily do guitar bodies too. You can narrow the carriage and/or shorten the way tubes if a smaller table is needed. The propeller master and blank shown in the photos are not included in the sale. The table the machine is set up on is not included in the sale as shipping a 4'x8' table would be extremely costly. However, if a buyer is picking the machine up I will sell the table with the machine for an additional $150 (a big, heavily built, flat, work table ain't cheap or easy to build guys!).  I will ship the machine taken apart so as to minimize shipping costs. I know the ad says "freight" but it will go UPS or FedEx-whichever is cheaper. Do not pay the invoice amount at the end of the auction. There will be at least two boxes required for shipping and the shipping calculator does not accommodate for this. I will need to invoice the buyer after the auction ends. Bear in mind the way tubes are 8' long so there will be a little extra charge from UPS or FedEx for those. I will include a CD showing detailed disassembly pictures and instructions for reassembly as well as use of the machine. Of course, I assume anyone looking at this type of equipment shouldn't need much help in that regard. Email any questions you might have. Thanks!
