For those looking to replicate the experiment, a levitation rig using a 3" od X 1.5" ID X 5/8" thick ferrite ring magnet, taken from a 12" speaker, showed the best results. Measuring in at 1.038" long x 0.948'" wide and varying from 0.237" to 0.259" thick, this block has been tested and proven to levitate a 1/4" cube Grade N42 magnet. While it may require some sanding to achieve a smooth finish, don't let its appearance fool you - this graphite is a top performer.
