You can download a free trial at http://www.jeffrowlette.com/qcam/ It will run 3 times before it must be activated.   QCAM is a powerful and FAST CNC lathe programming software system for Windows PC based computers.  When using QCAM, you assemble or "build" your CNC lathe programs one tool at a time.  You start your program with "Start Up" and select the machining functions you need until you are finished.   QCAM is unique in that it simultaneously creates the G-code program for your CNC lathe as it draws the part on the screen.  All you do is enter basic information about the part based on the data on the blueprint.  Qcam can program X positive or X negative depending on your machining needs.   Using QCAM.   Most often, when using QCAM, you will start by selecting "Start Up".  You will fill in the information in the boxes and click the "Write" button and QCAM will create the beginning code that starts your CNC lathe program.  This information is customizable in QPost - a program that ships with QCAM but there are several good posts already installed in QCAM when it is first installed.       After "Start Up", you will click on the machining function you wish to perform.  For instance, you may click on "Face And Turn".   You would then fill in the text boxes from information on your blueprint and then click on the "Write" button.  QCAM will write the g-code AND draw the part for you at the same time.   At this point you would most often send the tool home so you could start another tool or end the program.  This is done by clicking " Tool Home".   This is the basic process for using QCAM.  you assemble your program by selecting "New Tools", you select your machining processes, and do "Tool Home" and continue until finished.
