Quest M-27 and Quest-M-28 noise dosimeters will transfer data to a computer and not just directly to a printer. The cable is hard to find and the pin-out instructions are not on the 3M Quest Technologies website. Build the cable from a common Quest #59-818 Centronics parallel printer cable following these instructuions. Overall this involves replacing the parallel connector with a common RS232 9-pin DB-9 female connector. This allows data transfer to a computer through HyperTerminal or the free Tera Term software packages. You will also need a USB to serial adapter, but these are readily available commercially.  Instructions only. No cable is included. Instructions delivered to the email address you provide. Allow a day or two for delivery.
