The Victoreen CD V-117, Model 1, portable monitoring instrument measures gamma radiation dose rates as high as 500 roentgens per hour (R/hr). It is designed to be used by radiological Civil Defense Personnel in determining radioactive contamination levels that may result from an enemy attack or other nuclear disasters.     The CD V-117 consists of three case sections. The top section contains the meter and almost all of the circuit. The bottom section contains the Ion chamber. The center section provides for electrically connecting the circuit board on the top section to the chamber from the bottom section. The case section are electrically connected through two triaxial connectors which mate when the case sections are locked together. The instrument includes the original Instruction and Maintenance Manual with Schematic Diagram and component parts list. Unable to test the instrument therefore offering it for bid in Used AS-IS condition. However there are companies on the internet that recalibrate and refurbish these very popular instruments. In very clean condition . Internal hairline cracks on meter movement visibly in the photograph, does not detract from the operation of the instrument.
