Raltron 10MHz oven controlled precision OCXO SC Cut 0.1 ppm sinewave +12v USA Raltron OX6580A-LZ-10-10.000-12 10 MHz oven controlled OCXO Output type: Sinewave Cut type: SC Cut, Voltage controlled Temperature range: +0 degrees C to +70 degrees C Stability: 0.1 PPM Frequency: 10.000 MHz Supply voltage: 12v The unit is 1 inch square and 0.4 inch high Center control voltage 5v I have several of these which were pulled from working PCBs. Some have fairly long leads like the one shown being measured by test equipment. I chose the one with the shortest leads for the closeup picture of the back side. At cold start, the unit draws about 320 mA to quickly heat it up; after about 30 seconds the current drops to around 11 mA and at 50 seconds it servos until finally settling to about 65 mA. I have graphed the frequency error and current drain on one unit from cold start. Using a rubidium reference for my frequency counter, the frequency error was: cold start: 18 ppm 30 seconds: 9 ppm 60 seconds: 1.7 ppm 120 seconds: 0.2 ppm 180 seconds: 0.1 ppm (spec) The control voltage is nominally 5 volts. The frequency can be pulled a few ppm low or high by adjusting the control voltage from 0 to 10v. I graphed the frequency error versus control voltage for one unit (shown in 8th picture). The frequency pull versus control voltage is fairly linear from 4v to 6v. The data shown in the pictures will be representative of the unit you buy, but it is from a unit I already sold. Excellent for building a GPS disciplined reference oscillator; or just use it as is for a bench reference since it has a sinewave out. I will test before shipping and include frequency versus control voltage data to get the unit to within less than 0.1 Hz (0.01 ppm) at room temperature. A printout of the test data like that shown in the last picture will be included with the unit. After several minutes of warmup, the control voltage will be swept from 0 to 10 volts in 0.5 volt increments and the frequency error recorded. The control voltage will then be swept in 0.1 volt increments around the zero error point and the frequency error recorded. The final sweep will be in 0.01 volt increments and will show the voltage which gives less than 0.1 Hz error. The reason that the recorded control voltage (Vcntrl) may be in odd steps is that the test system is sweeping a programmable HP power supply, but the recorded voltage is measured with a calibrated HP DMM.
