RARE Collectible! "STANLEY Boxwood & Brass 1-Ft, 4Fold Narrow Rule Tool - No.69" Search Very Collectible!!! Vintage STANLEY 1-Foot, 4-Fold, Square-Joint No. 69 Made By STANLEY RULE & LEVEL COMPANY Made In New Britain, Connecticut Produced by the Stanley Rule & Level Company, this vintage square-joint rule consists of four multi-hinged boxwood measurement narrow sections and somewhat rare for this type of smaller, older rule, shows its exceptional quality craftsmanship with its perfectly fine working brass barrel joints that easily move to configure and “rigid hold” of the desired shape. Pictures display the capability to firmly hold different angles. Dual sided rule graduations can accommodate various measurement applications including 8ths, and 16ths increments. This STANLEY 1-Foot, 4-Fold Boxwood Rule - No. 69 with its square-joint fold is in very fine condition showing minor wear with some fading due to aging wear, smudges, stains, some slivers of dirt/grime accumulation in cracks/crannies, fading of the brass binding finish, few minor dings, and usage contact marks. Using the valuation guides*, this vintage STANLEY 2-Foot, 4-Fold, Square- Joint Boxwood Rule – No. 69 might be graded at the FINE+ rating in accordance with the criteria: FINE: Tool is completely useable; metal is 90-100% and may have a trace of rust and some dark patina; wood 80% original or old finish, smooth surface and edges slightly rounded; minimal wear and no repair; maker’s marks, if present, are clear and easily legible. NOTE: Grading is an art and not an exact science thereby creating the need for sound judgment. To address the wide scope of possibility, most grading guides are purposely vague and somewhat subjective in nature. Grading combines personal opinion, subject matter research, past experience, and knowledge to allow each individual a distinct perspective in assessing reasonable or acceptable condition.
