RARE COMPENSATED TUNING FORK FREQUENCY STANDARD BY RIVERBANK LABORATORIES   Riverbank Laboratories was founded in 1913 and became one of the leading producers of tuning forks and precision tuning fork devices which it manufactures to this day.  Beginning in 1927, the engineering division, guided by Bert Eisenhour, Sr., contributed substantially to the development of an improved tuning-fork with a variety of acoustical, medical, electronic and electro-mechanical uses. He developed many improvements a number of which he patented. One of the improvements was a temperature compensated precision tuning fork which Riverbank manufactured. The best and highest precision forks were stamped Eisenhour and were used as frequency standards through the 1960's. The one here uses a temperature compensated fork stamped Eisenhour and made to his specifications and under his direction probably in the late 50's or early 60's. The fork, with it's electronics are housed in a protective metal case with a see through top. The fork is weighted and calibrated to run at 100Hz. Few were made and as a result are quite rare today in this configuration. The unit is fully functional and it was running well when I put it away about 20 years ago. It's 9" wide, 3-1/2" deep and 3" high. It weighs about 2-1/2 pounds. Please view the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description. Ask any questions you might have before bidding and I'll respond promptly. I'm selling this fork unit as-is,no return. I only accept Paypal for payment..
