This auction is for what we believe to be an original rare antique microscope glass slide. The glass slide is labeled "HUMAN SKIN NEGRO, DORSAL". WARD'S NAT. SCI. ESTAB. ROCHESTER, N.Y." This slide was produced by Ward's Natural Science Establishment in Rochester New York. We are unsure as to how old the slide is and are guessing that it dates back to the early 1900s. The slide measures roughly 2 15/16" x 1" x 1/16". The slide looks to be free of any cracks but does have a few tiny flea bite type chips on 2 of the corner areas. The slide also needs be cleaned as it has finger print marks on it. The label also has aging and yellowing. It appears that the human sample is intact and appears as a red type smear to the human eye. Overall, this original antique rare Ward's glass slide is in fair to good original shape and is sure to be a nice addition to your collection. Please contact me with any questions or comments.
