This unit is used in environments where you need to generate heat for splicing/heat-shrinking tubing without generating a flame. They are normally used in aviation aircraft environments where you need to work on wires near fuel tanks; but I've also read that they can be used for desoldering and scrap-gold recovery from circuit boards since they are capable of heating to very high temperatures. Physical condition is good with scuffs, scratches and wear from normal field usage. I connected the unit to a compressed air source and tested it. It powers on . I then turned the "on" button on the gun head and within minutes the air went from cool to over 100+ degrees F. It includes several reflectors for heating in different conditions; there are 4 total reflectors included. This tool operates off of standard 120vac electricity and requires dry-compressed air or nitrogen to work properly. It does heat up properly, but I don't know if it will fully hit 900 degrees as that's beyond my safety tolerance. I let it heat up a little ways.
