What is RD’s Gismo and its applications? Hi! I am RD RD’s Gismo is a simple system that when installed on the most commonly smooth surfaces of a tool part know as the universal or swivel. It is designed to install, most important staying on during use and to be removed. Making cleaning of the tools simple. The universal is most commonly purchased within Department stores tools department, Auto parts supplier’s tool selections and is used commonly with ratchet sets and tool parts. I call it a swivel as it is commonly called. Applications: Many in the use of a ratchet set and tooling that would use a universal and or a swivel. When installing of RD’s Gismo it is designed to add manageable flexibility when needed to place for example a socket on to a hard to get to location. Example; Doing a tune up on your auto. Some of us place the socket on the spark plug by hand and then the universal or swivel, extensions and so on, as to not damage the plug. The device now gives more manageable control over the flexibility of the universal and or swivel to place the socket with the tool parts assembled needed to do the task. We also offer RD’s Gismo Heavy Duty. The advantages with the heavy duty as it has a bit more rigidness and a little less flexibility as it can support the spark plug in a socket with flexibility to align the plug to its location with more managed control as not to bump the gap setting managing the task with one application system. As always it is good practice while placing to install the plug to reverse turning of the direction of threads for proper alignment before threading in. This practice is use a lot to reduce the chance of cross threading. More info and conversation. This simple device surpasses the sticky tap method that stretches or cracks end result good for a few applications then still have to clean off the stickiness. Time is money and frustration reduction is time. There are other methods that have been used but none that I or the mechanics that tried the device works as well for a standard universal for manageability and flexibility. One buyer was going to see if it would replace several tool parts as even professional tooling has some limitations in hard to get to locations and good feet back from other professional that now own one or two. It is of a stretchable based material and can wear and tear just like any other material of this nature. What I can tell you that our prototype has been used many times put in the tool box and use again and again, washed and dried and still has near the same retention as it did when we made it, ready to be used again. If purchasing I will say you will find it a useful addition to your tools. Giving for a gift.
