Refractometer for Metalworking Fluid Analysis - New Brand new and unused. Maintaining proper metalworking fluid concentration levels is critical for efficient quality metalworking operations. A refractometer is a precision instrument that allows you to determine the concentration of a metalworking coolant. Readings indicate the solids/oil content of a fluid. Easy to use: 1. Put a few drops of the metalworking fluid onto the lens, close the cover and read the number where the blue and white backgrounds form a line 2. This line is the refractometer reading which is then converted to a %concentration using a conversion chart for the fluid you are using Most coolants read differently from one another – but they normally fall in ranges -- Most soluble oils will read between a 4 and a 5 at a 20:1 dilution -- Most semi-synthetics read between a 2 and a 3 at 20:1 -- Most synthetics read between 1 and 2.5 at 20:1 -- All fluids should have their own conversion charts – so readings can be correlated to concentrations Please check the pictures and don't hesitate to ask any questions about the item!
