This is an antique Frigidaire electric motor, as shown. I am not sure of the age but I gather it is from right around 1920 but again, I cant be sure. When I got the motor, it was not nearly as nice looking of course but it was operational, ran very well, sounded good and looked good inside, so I decided to do the work to refurbish it. I didnt rush through this to make money, it would be 5 times what I will likely get if I got paid for my time...basically I did the job thinking of a collector who would appreciate it but I do everything like that anyway. I have refurbished many things but never a motor. I took everything apart cleaned it all down, bolts, nuts everything as you can see in the pictures. I decided not to strip the body as it has a lot of character and it isnt trying to be a new motor. I prepared the surfaces thoroughly (I was a painter for many years) while is was apart, it was put back together finished, there are no parts painted together or anything like that. I took the time to clean up the hardware very well and left it natural, a very nice effect if you ask me. Everything is original except for the electric box cover, I made that but I am sure someone into these could dig up a proper one if they wanted to. The one on there now is contoured to fit the body of the motor so it doesnt really look too out of place. The wires still had their original wire nuts (last pic) which will be sent as well, they didnt want to grab well enough for my liking so I didnt use them. Of course, I am also sending that piece of metal in the same pic, needed to power the tool. I stripped down the wires just enough to get into fresh copper and I rubber coated the wires as they were brittle but inside they were excellent, I took a picture of that and many others but I couldnt use them all. This motor was being used on a Craftsman 150 drill press which showed very little use as well...I am also refurbishing. You should be able to read all the info on the label in the 4th pic. As for the 'guts'...from what I was able to dig up on the internet, the inside looks very good, especially for a motor of this age. I didnt do anything but very carefully wipe the surfaces and blow it out. Some of the dried out wire coating came off inside and that is not over-spray you see on the copper where the coating is missing. Everything, including the 'wadding'? that holds the oil, was taped off. That material was very good looking, clean, not greasy, it still has that manilla rope color and they were both full. The oil caps open and close perfectly. I put it all together and it started right up seemed to run smoother and quieter than others I had seen...I have a video clip of it running below (I have never done that before and why I kept it so short, I have no idea...maybe concerned about its size(?)...it was not to hide anything, it just keeps running the same as the video (I could do another one if you want to hear it longer). The only thing I didnt spend much time on is the cord itself, assuming the buyer would need to modify it to their application...if you want it changed (or just removed if the motor is for display) I can take care of that for you. This motor is unbelievably heavy at 40 pounds...I cant use a large Priority Flat Rate box so shipping cost will be determined automatically by where you are located and it is not particularly cheap.              Let me know if you have any questions and thank you for looking.
