Refurbished Specialty Perkins Braillers: Large Cell Brailler Designed by David Abraham Manufactured by Howe Press, Perkins School for the Blind This is a fully operational Brailler. It has been cleaned, serviced, and lubricated. A One-Year Warranty is included. [Please see Warranty details below.] This Braille Writer is a genuine Perkins Brailler that I purchased on eBay and then reconditioned. It has been thoroughly serviced, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of any worn-out parts. Notes regarding various Perkins Brailler Types: The Standard or “normal” Perkins Brailler embosses 42 standard sized cells per line on 11” wide paper. Large Cell Braillers emboss 27 larger sized cells per line. The embossed dot is the same size as in a Standard Brailler, using the same sized styluses. Large cell Braillers are helpful for users who have tactile difficulties. Jumbo Cell Braillers also emboss 27 larger sized cells per line. The embossed dot is thicker than a Standard Brailler dot. Jumbo Braillers use a special thicker set of styluses. Jumbo Braillers are also helpful for users who have tactile difficulties. Unimanual Brailler A Standard Brailler designed so that it can be used with only one hand. _________________________________ My History: I have run a part-time business repairing Perkins Braillers since the beginning of 2006. During that time I have serviced over 860 Perkins Braillers. My clients include the Michigan Department of Education, the Michigan Commission for the Blind, numerous intermediate school districts in Michigan, Future Aids – The Braille Superstore, and many individual users. Late in 2009 I began selling refurbished Braillers and have sold over 250 to date. About half of those have been purchased on eBay. I am privileged to have Braillers in use throughout the USA and also in Canada, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. _________________________________ Completing your Purchase: Payment Terms: PayPal Preferred. If the Brailler you purchase fails to work properly during that time, please contact me. I will arrange for you to return the Brailler for repair it at no charge. Shipping for warranty work is to be via USPS as “Free matter for the Blind.” Please note that the warranty does not cover issues arising from misuse of the Brailler, such as being dropped or having items dropped inside the Brailler (e.g., pencils, emery boards, chewing gum, candy, etc.). Additionally, since these Braillers should not require cleaning or lubrication for at least 2 years, any unauthorized use of solvents or lubricants will void the warranty.
