Clean, restored, calibrated, Victoreen CDV-700 Beware of using 50 year old meters that have not been restored. They usually fail when you use them the most! Up for auction is one a very clean Victoreen CDV-700 model 6B, headset, & strap. This particular unit has a spotless lower can, very clean internals, typical paint flaking on the top which I touch up using a paint stick. There is a small corner missing on the check source which does not in any way affect the performance. Also, the remaining protion of the sitcker is stuck on very well. The CDV-700 series meters are the very sensitive meters used to detect radiation incoming from far away, in or on foods, soil, fluids, objects and more. They can also be connected to PCs using CDV software and audio adapter. In my opinion this is the most valuable radiation detection meter one can own. These are rebuilt here and ready for another 50 years service. I will warranty the 700s for life and I am the only seller/lab to do so. No one restores CDV-700s like Prepguard does. Calibration: We adjust the gauge needle, high voltage using the supplied the GM tube, then adjust current flow to the gauge needle using several known check sources (gamma and beta). Calibrations were checked against $10k hospital machines and were found to be completely accurate. Prepguard Certification of Service Lifetime Warranty 700 units are restored by replacing: CR1, CR2, CR3, Q1, Q2, C1, C4, C5 replacing all audio, gauge & power diodes replacing high voltage diodes replacing all electrolytic capacitors replacing all power supply capacitors replacing all transistors re-soldering all solder joints cleaning all switch contacts removing. reconditioning, greasing rubber seals testing and replacing voltage regulators as needed testing all GM tubes / Replacing if needed adjusting the high voltage (calibration) adjusting gauge needle (calibration) adjusting tube/gauge needle sync (calibration) use of higher quality components than the original components with several being military spec.
