MASTER/STENCIL SUPPLY YIELDS   Questions are constantly raised regarding the yield of digital duplicator supplies, both ink and master material. Regardless if it Riso (Risograph) Ricoh, Savin, Gestetner, Standard or Duplo masters are fairly straightforward.    There are a predetermined number of masters on a roll. The cost per master is determined by dividing the number of masters on the roll by the total cost per roll. As for how many copies the master will produce after just a few test runs a determination can be made. Usually a master will yield between 2,500 and 5,000 impressions (copies.) Very few applications require this extensive a run length. On rare occasions there may be a need for this many copies. However, if a cost per master analysis is done it is evident you can create an additional with minimal expense.    To calculate cost per copy for a master simply take the cost of the master roll divided by the number of masters on the roll. Then divide that by your average length of run from each master. Please note each box of masters will indicate the roll size on the side panel. Example, if you have a Riso master that is 227mm x 100m the roll is 100 meters long. The average master is meter in length. This would indicate that this roll would yield 200 masters. If you have a Ricoh, Gestetner, Savin or Standard master roll, it is 240mm x 125m or 250 masters per roll. Duplo masters are 110M so they would have 220 masters per roll.      Cost of master roll . = Cost of master = Cost per copy  # of masters per roll Run Length
