These are New Old Stock Rivett lathe screws and nuts that are storied (I use that word because I did not see them come out of the factory) to have come from the repair department at the Rivett factory. I bought these along with a whole lot of stuff about 20 years ago from a collector in California. I sold a bunch of stuff back then but kept some for my personal use and now it is time to thin out that. These fit most Rivett cross slides and the compound. They will however take some fitting, they will not just screw into place because these lathes were made for nearly 80 years and there are a lot of differences from one to the next. You will notice the nuts are not filed to size of drilled and tapped. The nuts fit very tight as I think Rivett lapped them in place during fitting. They also have not been thoroughly cleaned so that could contribute to this. These are 3/8" 10 left hand. Look back about a year on the Yahoo Rivett site for a in depth discussion on fitting these along with detailed dimensions and specs. You will notice that gear teeth for use in a 608 are not cut, so that is something you'll have to do. Also on the Yahoo group you will see the cost to make new one greatly exceeded the starting price and for practical purposes that project has been cancelled…… so, this is you chance…… and just to let you know I have a LOT FEWER nuts than screws. $ 12.00 shipping to the lower 48 states, all others at cost.
