Roland LPX-600 With the touch of a button the LPX-600, 3D laser scanner can generate a detailed 3D computer model with a 0.008-inch resolution and a watertight surface. LPX EZ Studio 3D scanning software automatically scans, aligns, merges planes, fills holes, and decimates 3D models. LPX EZ Studio then exports them as point cloud, stl, or 3d model data that can be easily used directly in SolidWorks® Office Premium and other 3D CAD, 3D Modeling, and 3D Animation software. This is a little used Roland LPX-600 3D laser scanner. It is in like new condition, having very little use. After buying it (about $18,000 plus tax and shipping) and using it just enough to do a practice scan or two, I got distracted by other projects and just let it set. Now, my wife is on a major downsizing project and tells me I should sell all of my toys that are just taking up space. It works flawlessly. I just now set it up again and started doing some demonstration scans and there are no issues. It comes bundled with Dr. Picza and Roland EZ Studio for scanning. I use Dr. Picza and it works well. EZ Studio requires a dongle, so I tend not to use it as much. Also, I have Pixiform Pro. It is an expensive program and does not come bundled with the scanner unless you are willing to plunk down an extra $6,000 (which I did). It is supposed to be a great program for adding in reverse engineering. It shines (they say) in cleaning up and improving a scan. The dongle that I have for it requires a RS-232 parallel port to attach. (I bought just before they went to a USB dongle.) So, if you need it, I will throw in an older desk top (shipping will be an extra $85 for this item) which has the program installed and working. (just the case with the cpu, etc., not mouse, monitor or keyboard). LPX-600 Features Scans objects up to 10" in diameter and 16" high Converts objects in 3D data at highly-accurate .0079" (.2mm pitch) Able to scan a wide variety of objects with Roland's revolutionary Dual Mode (Rotary and Planar) Scanning Technology The combination of precision optics and motion control with a rigid cast aluminum frame produce high quality scans Easy connection with USB Attractive, compact design for office environment Complete workflow from input to output is available with the combination of Roland SRP milling devices and 3d printers. There are other used LPX-600s out there for sale. I doubt that any of them has had as little use as this one and most will not have the $6,000 extra program. Thanks, Bill
