The Safariland Hemident McPhails Reagent, Pack of 10, is a highly efficient non-destructive field test kit that you can use to presumptively identify blood in samples. The kit comes with ten disposable tubes, each containing two chemical reagent ampoules. When you suspect blood, place the stain inside the tube and break both ampoules in succession. The appearance of a blue/green reaction confirms the presence of blood, even at an insanely low concentration of up to one part per million. It is, however, worth noting that Hemident doesn't distinguish between human and animal blood. If you'd like to determine if the blood is human-specific, consider using the Hexagon OBTI test or submit the sample for laboratory serology analysis.
