They aren't the heavy duty ones, but my neck doesn't ache when I take my lid off after 8-10 hours either. They cut out enough that I'm not worried about my hearing unless I'm doing something like cutting metal fascia with a saw (which is ungodly loud) They are shallow enough to fit your head between 16" on C steel studs.I highly recommend for function, ease of use, weight, decibel reduction, and price. very cheap compared to the last few decades of your life saying "Ehh??, What?, Come again?" Jeffit What a great idea These fit my hard hat, just clipped in. They do have 2 setpoints, one for when you want to rotate them off of your ears and one for rotating them on to your ears. I thought I broke them at first but they are on a hinge and move quite well. I also was able to put my headlamp on under the earmuff clips so I no longer have to zip tie my headlamp to my hard hat!
