We haven’t had any known infections so far, so why should we use SaniCaps®? Can I use a disinfectant spray or wipe on my needle? What are the three critical areas that must be disinfected? Why can't I just replace the needle when someone is stuck? Aren’t needles cheaper than SaniCaps®? Do SaniCaps® stain Apparel? Am I liable if a tagging gun needle stick infection occurs? If I assign guns to specific users, do I still need to use SaniCaps®? How often should we use SaniCaps®? How are SaniCaps® packaged? How can I place a trial order for SaniCaps®? Q1.  Are SaniCaps® effective against HIV, Hepatitis B and MRSA? Yes, each SaniCap™ contains 0.6 ml, an EPA registered formula that kills HIV (AIDS virus), HBV (hepatitis B), and MRSA.   Q2.  Can I use alcohol to disinfect my needles? No, according to OSHA and the CDC, alcohol is not effective against hepatitis and other virulent pathogens.   Q3.  We haven’t had any known infections so far, so why should we use SaniCaps®? No one, not even the manufacturers of tag guns, disputes the fact that tag gun needle sticks can transmit life threatening and potentially fatal infections. Not using a SaniCap™ is a “pointless” and unnecessary gamble in a time when drug-resistant strains of bacteria are gaining strength and viruses are mutating faster than their pharmacological solutions. Needle sticks from tag guns are inevitable. But, you can eliminate the risk of infection from those needle sticks by making sure there are no pathogens on them. SaniCaps® do just that and eliminate the risk of infections from needle sticks.   Q4.  Can I just use a disinfectant spray or wipe on my needle? No. According to OSHA and other pathogenic experts familiar with tagging guns, neither sprays nor wipes adequately disinfect the three critical areas of a tagging gun. Needles must be immersed to ensure full pathogenic kill of the three critical areas. Back to Top   Q5. What are the three critical areas that must be disinfected? The three critical areas are: (1) The outside of the needle, (2) the inside of the hollow needle, and (3) the internal metal rod that moves back and forth contacting the inside of the needle as the gun is fired. Any infectious material on this rod will contaminate the needle. Failure to disinfect any one of these three areas nullifies the entire disinfection process. ONLY A PATENTED SANICAP™ CAN RELIABLY DISINFECT ALL THREE CRITICAL AREAS AND COMPLETELY ELIMINATE THE RISK OF INFECTION.   Q6. Why can't I just replace the needle when someone is stuck? Simply replacing a needle doesn’t address the third of the three critical areas as outlined above. Any infectious material on that metal rod will contaminate the needle. ONLY A SANICAP™ CAN RELIABLY DISINFECT ALL THREE AREAS AND COMPLETELY ELIMINATE THE RISK OF INFECTION. Back to Top Q7. Aren’t needles cheaper than SaniCaps®? No, tagging gun needles cost $1 to $4 EACH. SaniCaps are much more cost effective at less than 50 cents each. Plus, ONLY A SANICAP™ CAN DISINFECT THE THREE CRITICAL AREAS AND COMPLETELY ELIMINATE THE RISK OF INFECTION.   Q8.  Do SaniCaps® stain or bleach apparel?       No, SaniCaps are specially formulated not to stain nor bleach apparel.     Q9. Am I liable if a tagging gun needle stick infection occurs? Yes. According to OSHA the use of tagging guns can result in a worker sustaining a needle stick with a contaminated needle. Thus, the risk of exposure to potentially infectious materials can be reasonably anticipated. The leading tagging gun manufacturer’s product insert warns “Needle sticks can transmit life-threatening diseases….” An occurrence could result in legal proceedings as well as negative press for your company. SaniCaps® eliminate the risks of needle stick infections and liability.   Back to Top     Q10. If I assign guns to specific users do I still need to use SaniCaps®? Although restricting a gun’s use to a single person does reduce the risk of bloodborne transmission; it does not totally eliminate the risk of dangerous infections. Apparel is porous and can retain microscopic infectious pathogens. A hollow tagging gun needle can contact and transfer those microscopic pathogens to a tagging gun user when they are stuck. SaniCaps® eliminate that risk by eliminating all the infectious material on the needle. Remember, many people have handled the apparel items you are tagging as they go from manufacturing to distribution to point of sale. Some of that handling has likely occurred in countries where disease and/or infection may be more prevalent and work conditions are less hygiene. Protect yourself from infections with SaniCaps®. Back to Top   Q11. How often should we use SaniCaps®? A SaniCap™ should be used every time a tagging gun needle stick occurs to eliminate the risk of infection. Additionally, SaniCaps® should be used frequently to negate surface bacteria build up.   U.S. PAT. NO. 5,902,547
