The Santoku (utility) is such a popular knife that i wanted a nice hardwood handle and shaped to fit in your hand. Bocote is an exotic hardwood with dramatic grain, it's durable and will hold up good. I've used Bocote alot and have never had a problem.  I wanted alot more grip then the original so i cut the wood and shaped the handle. I also cut in fingers but went with a little different design just doing a two finger grip and letting the length taper back, and you need a really good grip on the utility knifes. It's laminated to each other and pinned so it can never come off.  The blade itself is very clean and sharp. The edge looks as if it were rarely used.The blade is 5 inch and the overall length is 9 3/4.  I ship quick, well packed and i email you the shipping track numbers.
