Schlage 13-047 x 626 for C & D Series knobs and levers and ND levers. Plain English translation: Schlage is the World famous manufacture of quality (and crappy) hardware. Founded in San Francisco in the 1920's by Walter Schlage and the inventor of the bored cylindrical lockset. Now owned by Allegion. 13-047 is the part number for a 2-3/4" backset deadlatch. Backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the mounting hole. Deadlatch is the latch that is used on any key operated lock. It has 2 parts that you can see from the picture. The main (big) latch and the small half moon deadlatch. When the door is closed the latch falls into the strike (metal plate on the door frame) and the deadlatch stays depressed by the strike plate "deadlocking" the latch to prevent pushing the latch back with a card or forcing it back. 626 is the finish or color of the exposed plate. It is called brushed or satin chrome. It is also expressed as 26D. It is a brass base material that is electroplated and grained. Very durable finish. C & D & ND Series; This is Schlage's heaviest duty lock. Also known as a Grade 1 lock. It is tested for 1,000,000 cycles. They are used in situations with high use and abuse environments or in residences that want to make a unique statement. These latches are new and have not been installed. There may be scratches where they were stored in a box. The 2-3/4" backset is by far the most common commercial backset. I also have this same item for sale in a Oil Rubbed Bronze finish 613 and other backsets. I also have some very slightly used deadlatches listed.
