1 vintage NOS Schlage 955 Raised lip strike in a polished brass finish. What is it and what is it used for you ask? The strike is the metal plate on the door frame. It is primary purpose is to securely hold the door closed and act as a wear plate. If your door has a large gap and the latch (piece sticking out of the door) is not or barely catching the strike you use this type of plate to "close" the gap and get a better more latch engagement. There are other ways to do this but this is the old school professional way to do it. This is what is called a "T" strike. Most homes have what is called a full lip strike. Although not a direct replacement you can make this work. In our modern throw away world lock companies no longer produce these slow moving items. Long gone are most of these cool little items to fix something out of the norm. Call me if you have questions. I am in the biz and can ask any question you have about this product and its application. I am not taking it back once it is gone.
