Scientific Atlanta Model 1780 Phase Amplitute Receiver Control Unit (part of 1783 Receiving System) The Scientific Atlanta Model 1780 Phase Amplitute Receiver Control Unit is the primary control unit for the Model 1783 antenna evaluation receiving system. The 1780 provides control of the system and displays measurement results of antenna performance. The model 1780 is the key component of the system which consists of several units, some of which are normally located remote from the control unit. Physically, I would rate its condition as fair to good. All the push buttons are intact and work with good action. The case has some minor scratches and sticker residue. Electrically, this Control Unit powers up and responses to controls, but we have no way to test it without other system components. Therefore we cannot guarantee performance. The photos show several views of the 1780 as well as a block diagram of the 1783 system and an illustration of the 1780 as installed in the receiving system. This 1780 control unit will come without a manual, but a power cord is included as well as the rack slides shown in the photos. Other units of the 1783 receiving system are often available on eBay. Also, operation and maintenance manuals are available from many used test equipment vendors.
