Scientific Industries Vortex Genie 2, Analog Vortex Mixer, 120 VAC, with 3” Flat Head - Model G-560 Seller's Description: Offered is a clean, functional Vortex Genie 2 vortex mixer, a standard workhorse for daily laboratory use when mixing flasks, vials, and tubes. The unit features analog variable speed control and a three position switch (Touch-OFF-Hands Free) that allows for it to run intermittently on depressing the sample onto the head or continuously. It’s base is constructed of heavy cast; the paint is in average condition, showing small chips with wear as pictured; the label on this unit is also worn. The three-inch head is included, and though it is showing only slight wear (see picture) it does have a small crack in the middle; that said, it should get you by for a some time, depending on usage. When you need it, a replacement 3" cover ($25 -$35) or a multitude of other new accessories are available from either VWR or Scientific Industries. Why are my Vortex Genie 2's different from other used units you'll see on Ebay? I always upgrade these units with brand new anti-vibration feet from Scientific Industries. I’ve cleaned and tested the unit, all works as it should and the feet provide a firm soft cushion to the lab bench. If you don't mind the cosmetics, the unit is priced at a fraction of the cost of a new unit. Who are you buying from? I am a professional scientist/engineer with 25 years of laboratory experience. I know equipment: how to use it, integrate it, or re-purpose it; troubleshoot and fix it (if need be); and mostly how to source and select good used pieces for my personal use or for resale here.
