Includes DVD for Manual & tube Data Sencore TC130 Mighty Mite III Tube Tester - Calibrated & Ready to Use Click images to enlarge Description Sencore TC130 Mighty Mite III Tube Tester - Calibrated - The Sencore Mighty Mite series of tube testers are the best for finding shorts or leakage in a tube. I was testing the tubes I put up for sale on my own Sencore Mighty Mite before testing them on a Hickok for micromhos values, but stopped because it was too time consuming. Testing some tubes on several Sencore Mighty Mite Series tube testers has convinced me to start doing that again since a 5Y3GT (rectifier) tested almost NOS on a Hickok, and when I tested this same 5Y3 on this and five other Sencore Mighty Mite Series tube testers, it became salient the tube was weak and out of life. A new grounded AC power cord replaced the old 2-prong cord, a new plate cap wire was installed, a NOS JAN 12AU7 replaced the original Sencore 12AU7, and the case for this TC130 has been repainted in the outside. You will need to read the manual that explains that ZERO in not all the way to the left on this meter but about 1/4" up as clearly seen in PIC 5. There is obvious signs of wear on some of the graphics, but this TC130 works and had the same exact results as compared the Newest Sencore tube tester made, Sencore TC28 Mighty Mite VII, which I also currently have for sale in another auction. So if you want you can compare the test results since I tested the exact same tubes, in the same order on the TC28. Picture 3 shows that weak 5Y3 being tested with what appears to be"GOOD" results, but Picture 4 shows that same 5Y3 being tested for life and failing the life test thus the tube is not "GOOD". Life Test on the TC130 is done by dropping the filament voltage 1 click. Picture 5 shows the shorts light illuminated as supposed to be per the tube data on the 5Y3. Everything works, shorts, grid leakage, emissions, and life test (dropping the filament voltage down one notch). The tube chart is on a DVD that covers TC114 thru TC154 and is entitled TC154 Tube Data on the DVD. The DVD also includes the Manual for the TC130, and manuals and tube data for all the Senore Tube Testers. I also prefer testing sweep tubes and rectifiers on a Sencore since emissions is what you are testing and more likely to weed out a short, leakage, or a weak tube. This Sencore does not test the older style tubes so please know what tubes this can test before purchasing. The TC130 was calibrated per the calibration instructions included on the DVD that is included, and a NOS 12AU7 replaced the original Sencore 12AU7. All the sockets that tubes were tested in were tight and no issues. Tubes tested include 12AX7 (pic 6), 6AQ5 (pic 7), 6KM6 (pic 8) in a compactron socket, a used 6LF6 (pic 9) in the other compactron socket that tested as good as NOS and no movement on the life test, and the 5Y3GT was tested as mentioned above. This is a very tube tester that can be shipped USPS Large flat rate Priority. Several other options for shipping as well. I have described what this tester is and provided as many pictures possible and this Sencore TC130 cannot be returned for any reason. This TC130 is sold for Parts or Repair. I have many years of experience working with Hickok tube testers which include working in a certified Hickok warranty repair shop where I did all the repairs under warranty, and repairing Hickok testers that were no longer under warranty. I was replacing Hickok meters in the 80s and for a small fee as a favor for customers and that time building or repairing meters was much more difficult. I have also worked on Sencore tube testers and have always owned one for the reasons mentioned above. I have rebuilt MU140s and MU150s, and have built parts for them, but no longer do so or want to do so. On the other hand, the Sencore Mighty Mites are easy to calibrate and the best for the reasons mentioned above. If you have a legitimate problem upon receiving this tester such as the 83 rectifier was broke in shipping, which rarely happen, but can in high altitudes shipping internationally due to the vacuum and increased pressure, or something got broke in shipping, please notify me immediately. Immediately means within a few hours of receiving it not 36 hours later or 2 weeks. The transistor function (if applicable) was not checked on this tester. This tester is over 50 years old and should last another 50 if used and maintained properly, but if directions are not followed and someone tries to test a shorted tube e.g., any tube tester, or meter, can be destroyed in a second. I am not responsible for user error. You are expected to read the manual and understand what you are reading. You need to familiarize yourself with the tester and how it functions. Please take the time to do this since it could save you a lot of grief such as pressing the Gm button when testing a rectifier. It is an easy mistake to make and why you need to be careful when using this type of equipment. If you read the manual and use the manual while using the tester until you become experienced, you should have very few problems if any. Also, the same tube tested on different and also calibrated testers will usually give different results on each tester. Please do not expect this tester to have the same exact results of a tube tested on another tester. If you expect that this tester will test the exact same Gm because it is also calibrated and all within specs, then are disappointed and want to return it because it tested a tube higher or lower than you expected, do not buy this tester. You are looking to buy something that does not exist and I do not have the time or money to waste on non-issues and unobtainable perfection. I am not responsible for teaching you to use this tube tester or paying anything if you take it to someone for anything. Thus this is not a laboratory tube tester and if you expect laboatory tube tester results from this tube tester; do no buy it. This tube tester, due to its age and the nature of vintage electoronics, is sold as is for parts or repair.
