This listing is for a Scientific Electric Products (SEPCO) Test Tube Rotator. their Cat. No. 60448. The most recent sale of this item (as of the time that this listing was posted), on October 17, 2014, was at $89.00 plus calculated shipping. That other unit was in much worse looking condition than this one -- plenty of rust, something written large on its face in black marker, etc. We are listing this at $99.00 "Buy It Now" with free shipping, and that's a much better deal than that last one that sold! Please check out the many photographs that show that this item is in pretty good shape! We do not have the equipment to verify the actual RPM but we did test this unit using the very scientific method of inserting an AA size battery into one of the test tube holding clips and watching the rotator rotate. See the set of action photos where the battery is blurred due to motion. We also have a much more slowly rotating tube rotator that turns the tubes on a horizontal access rather than a vertically oriented disk as is the case here. Other than possibly some kind of internal adjustments that might be made, the one speed is set and fixed. Note: The battery we used to help show rotation in the photos taken during testing was dead and we do not intend to include it with this unit when shipped to the purchaser. See photo of bottom of this unit. Lab equipment in our experience is sometimes rusty or stained on the bottom, showing it was not well taken care of and/or people were careless about cleaning it in the event of a spill. The bottom of this item shows no signs of this, and little cleaning was needed even of its rubber bumper style feet. "Best Offer" tip: We are located on the West Coast.
