FIRST, the heads are drimmeled, filled in with sculpting material when needed, then wet sanded for a smooth "canvas". Next the heads are completely hand painted with acrylics and Last, finished with a polymer gloss which adds a beautiful long lasting protective sheen. Very Durable(more so than unfinished styrofoam) and lasting . with finished bottoms and original hole in the base. NOTE: THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS STILL RECOGNIZABLE to a certain extent AS STYROFOAM AND IS COMPLETELY PART OF THE "LOOK" OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT. Next, here's an idea of a way to make the heads much more useful. what are you going to do with a light weight short styrofoam head? -nothing... SO-THIS IS EASY... Mount the heads(they have just the right sized hole in the bottom)You can use a 2 liter soda bottle(you can even hand paint the bottles),on a water bottle, wine bottle, we even used a nicely shaped green glass olive oil bottle as a base. You can fill the bottles with water for weight or sand or ? and you can glue the head to the bottle for extra hold and stability. look at our photos we also have a c-clamp mount which is especially good for styling a wig.-if u don't see it listed please contact us.
