Set of Brass German Letter for Use in a Mechanical Pantograph Engraving Machine in a Wooden Box, Purchased in Germany This is a very nice set of brass letters deeply cut into 14 mm tall thick brass rectangles that are beveled at the top and the bottom so that they can be used in the letter holder of a rather large mechanical pantograph-type engraving machine. All the letters are housed in a very nicely made birch and plywood box that measures of an inch thick by 6- inches wide by 9 inches tall. As you can see in our photos, there are multiples of each letter and number, and the letters A, O and U can be used with or without the Umlaut which are common in many German words. The individual pieces are in excellent condition as is the box. In Germany they were probably once owned by a jeweler or watch engraver of some kind. Weighs 19 ounces.
