(Don't forget to ask if you want them, please:)  These mugs and saucers are the most iconic and memorable way of serving Sambuca to your guests - concluding a meal in perfection. Traditions of serving Sambuca include; Serving with seven coffee beans (representing the Seven Hills of Rome.) Likewise, a shot with one coffee bean, called "con la mosca" is also a tradition. When served with three coffee beans, each is said to represent health, happiness and prosperity; or the Holy Trinity. Served as a shot, Sambuca may be ignited to toast the coffee beans and the flame extinguished immediately before drinking. Well-known and loved the world-over with coffee also! Below is a review of Sambuca you may enjoy as you contemplate using these at your next show of hospitality: "Sambuca is marvelous - it's warm, its sexy, it makes you glow from inside. It's Italian. Just be sure to sip it or toss it back - nothing in between. In Summer, try it over ice or as a chilled shooter. The liqueur becomes cloudy. The mingling of cold and hot going down your throat is crazy good. Have an ice cold beer chaser and you're all set. When the evenings are cold, pour some with three coffee beans (for luck). Swirl it around and catch the exotic aroma of anise then take a sip. This time the liqueur tastes and feels rich and smooth with a very soft rush of heat. When you are finished, fish the coffee beans out (with your fingers if needed), put them (the beans, not your fingers) in your mouth to enjoy the blend of licorice and coffee. Make a wish and eat the coffee beans. You can also pour a quantity of Sambuca in a saucer to warm it up, then ladle in into glasses for your guest topped with three coffee beans. Waiters sometimes set a match to the surface of the Sambuca in a saucer, which makes a good show after dinner. It is sweet, sticky and feels like thick syrup in your mouth with a slow burn going down your throat."
