A first of its kind, this system completely eliminates landfill use and creates a new resource used in the manufacture of materials for industrial applications. The Sharps Recovery System is a government-approved system comprised of a custom designed mail able sharps container, postage paid prepaid return-by-mail shipping box, and instructions for use in English and Spanish. When the sharps collection container is full, the generator of the medical waste returns the sharps container to its original packaging. The shipping box and the enclosed sharps collection container are then returned to Sharps' treatment facility for repurposing. Upon receipt, Sharps Compliance documents the return, weight, and destruction of each sharps container. Certification is then available on Sharps Tracer, Sharps' internet-based tracking program.
