This is a Shars 3-axis digital scale readout with two stainless steel scales. Display has three backlit LCD readouts with resolution to .0005". Will display in imperial or metric. Case has a magnet inside and holds securely to ferrous metal surfaces. There are some minor scratches on the back of the case. Some were there when I bought it, some are from use, none will in any way affect the unit. Scales are stainless steel and battery operated and are specified to be accurate to .0005". Will display imperial or metric. I had this installed on a Jet JMD-15 benchtop mill/drill. Same machine as a Rong Fu RF30, Bolton, Grizzly, etc. Works great, and easy to fit. The only reason I quit using it is that the update frequency from the scales to the display is fairly slow, and that means you have to be careful about your dimension making cuts the last 1/4" or so. I suppose different scales might update faster, but I used this quite successfully for several years. Can't beat the price or the simplicity, that's for sure. It's a fraction of what a real DRO costs.
