This is not your ordinary drill chuck. It's a copy of the 3/8" drill chuck from Sherline. This unit was made to precision laser weld .034" diameter titanium tubes both ends were welded to encapsulate the contents inside the titanium tube. A long tube that contained the titanium tubes was inserted thru the rear and feed thru the headstock and each titanium tube was positioned to weld one end of the tube at a time.These were medical devices that were being welded. Precise positioning and rotation was critical. The runout had to be precise .0001" (+ / - ) .00005". Drawings are available and will be included. Only the best components were used and Hardened Steel (D2) tooling and jaws machined to perfection. These cost over $5,000 each to make. I have two available with extra set of jaws.
