This item is a small silicon and sapphire aspheric detector lens. It is made of silicon with a sapphire optical element as well. It is made for either a thermal imager or some sort of near/mid IR detector. The focal length appears to be about 1cm and the lens diameter is about 13mm. The lens makes an image that is visible on my night vision intensifier tubes, but will not make an image visible on normal CCD imge chips. Since part of it silicon it will cut off wavelengths shorter than about 1.3um making it quite useful as a detection lens for erbium glass 1.5um and other longer wavelength lasers. Micron Imager range 1.3 to about 4um. This item is pretty hard to find I have lots of laser and other unique stuff for sale this week.
