The Simpson Strong Tie DTT2Z-SDS2.5 ZMAX Galvanized 14-Gauge 2x Deck Tension Tie is a reliable and cost-effective solution for attaching deck-railing posts to the deck framing, resulting in stronger and safer railings. The connection is much stronger than typical through-bolt installations because the post is tied back into the deck joists, rather than to the rim joist alone. This product is also suitable for guardrail-post connections and lateral-load connections between the deck and house. The DTT2Z is made from 14 gauge steel and features ZMAX galvanization, providing extra corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications. It is suitable for lighter-duty hold own applications on single or double 2x posts, and can easily be installed with Strong-Drive SDS screws (included). The package includes SDS 1/4 in. x 2-1/2 in. screws and ships from our US warehouses with a handling time of 2 business days. Free shipping is provided with a shipping time of 3-4 business days, although most packages arrive much sooner.
